Solar campaign

Solar campaign- Experiencing the effect of global warming and realising the need to go for alternative renewable green energy and also to tackle the problem of shortage of electricity, JST has initiated this campaign in collaboration with SELCO Foundation to motivate people to go for the renewable source of Solar energy. As a result of this campaign 200 houses and 159 Anganwadies were installed Solar lighting system. A solar recourse centre has been set up at Mudipu with the support of SELCO Foundation, SKDRDP and UPC L Udupi to showcases solar systems and conduct conduct energy related training programmes. Under this campaign, as an experiment a process has been initiated in Baepuni and Bannuru Grama Panchayaths respectively of Bantwal and Putturu Blocks to develop 5 villages of these GPs as model villages through sustainable energy intervention with the support of the SELCO Foundation.
